Lung Cancer Care Information Booklet-Translated into Somali
The Can you C Me Project, funded by Macmillan cancer, have produced a new Lung Cancer care information booklet in Somali
Michael Samuel, Macmillan Cancer Support and Wellbeing Coordinator, gave the following overview:
We know that language and access barriers can make it harder for people to find the help they need. This translation has been created so that members of the Somali community—whether they live in London, Manchester, Birmingham or elsewhere—can access the same information and support as everyone else.
We would be grateful for your help in sharing this document as widely as possible among your members, networks and community contacts. You may wish to:
- Share the digital version (download link below) through your WhatsApp groups, newsletters or social media pages.
- Display a copy on your notice board or make it available at upcoming community events.
This work has been made possible thanks to collaboration between Macmillan Cancer and Somali community partners who advised us throughout the translation process. Their insights and generosity have helped ensure that the content is both accurate and culturally meaningful.
We are deeply appreciative of your ongoing efforts to support health and wellbeing within the Somali community. By working together, we can help ensure that everyone—whatever their language or background—has access to the information they need to stay healthy and seek care early.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for sharing this important resource with your community.
