Dementia 'Pop Up' Hubs

In 2018, Healthwatch Sutton, Age UK Sutton, Citizens Advice Sutton, Sutton Carers Centre, Alzheimers Society, Riverside Community Association and Admiral Nurses launched Dementia Pop-Up Hubs in Sutton.

Summary

The hubs aimed to help local residents who are living with dementia, or who would like to find out more about the condition.

They provided an open and accessible space for Sutton residents to come and meet other people. Representatives from several organisations were available at each pop-up to provide information and advice. There were also presentations on dementia related themes such as Power of Attorney.

The idea for the project came from a recommendation from our report 'Exploring the experience of people with dementia and those who care for them' in 2017. This report found there was not enough support for those living with dementia, and a dementia hub in Sutton would address a lot of the issues identified.
